Kimera EVO037: Retro rally legend gets even cooler

The Kimera EVO037 is now in Martini livery

Just when you thought the Lancia-inspired Kimera EVO037 could look any better, the company paints in it the iconic colours of Martini & Rossi.

And the new paint job isn’t just for fun, it’s because the car will be entered into the Costa Smeralda Historic Rally in Sardinia, Italy in April. Not only that, but it will be driven by Miki Biasion, one of the Lancia factory drivers who rallied the original 037.

The Kimera was unveiled last year and is a modernised version of the famous mid-engine Italian rally car. The original 037 won the 1983 World Rally Championship Constructors’ title driven by the likes of Walter Röhl and Markku Alén.

The EVO037 is built around a spaceframe chassis, like the original, and is powered by a 2.1-litre four-cylinder with both a supercharger and turbocharger, also like the original, which makes 377kW of power and 550Nm of torque.

Kimera is only building 37 examples of this retro rally rocket, with 27 reportedly already snapped up. The first customer car was delivered to a Dutch collector with Kimera on schedule to build a total of nine cars in 2022.
