Aaron Zerefos has returned to the podium at the coveted Mount Panorama circuit, scoring a strong third place in Class C at the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour on the weekend aboard the #47 Milk Lab BMW 130i, alongside John Fitzgerald and Peter Johnston.
“We had a good run on Sunday, I knew we had some heavy lifting to do after qualifying, but we had a strong race package,” Zerefos said.
“It was a classic Bathurst weekend that threw everything at us including variable weather conditions, but Sunday I knew we were on for a good result as soon as I completed the morning warm-up.
“The car felt good and John and Peter gave me the car in a strong position – I then did a double stint and made up some more places.
“It played out well, I had some good battles, passed some cars where I could, and managed to avoid the carnage.
“I’m really happy to help deliver another Bathurst podium for the On Track Motorsport team – Garry Mennell does a great job, he’s a really hands-on team owner and his crew were motivated all weekend – I enjoyed working with them.
“I’ve had three podiums in my last three races at Bathurst including second at the Bathurst 12 Hour in the Porsche GT3 Cup, so it’s a track that I definitely enjoy.”
Zerefos’ busy year continues with more Porsche racing commitments in America and Australia.
