MEDIA RELEASE: Wakefield Park will host a varied mixture of club, state and national motor-racing events for both two and four-wheeled vehicles next year, with the 2016 calendar officially revealed today.

Headlining the show will again be the Wakefield 300 endurance race on 20-21 February, which since its inception in 2008, has grown into one of Australia’s most prestigious endurance racing events.

Wakefield Park is also thrilled to welcome the HQ Holden Nationals to the circuit on 5-6 November; the HQ Nationals are held in a different state each year, and attract top-level HQ Holden drivers from all over the country.

The CAMS NSW State Championships will again make three appearances at Wakefield Park, with categories such as Production Touring, Improved Production, Sports Sedans, Formula Ford, Formula Vee, Formula Race Cars and Supersports all scheduled to participate.

The number of AASA State Championship events has increased from two to three for 2016, and these events will again attract categories including Pulsar Challenge, NSW Excel Racing Series, Miniature Race Cars, Legend Cars, Stock Cars and BMW Drivers Cup.

Also returning to the calendar are the single-day MRA (Motor Racing Australia) race meetings, including the all-British meeting in June.

Fans of two-wheeled motorsport have plenty of opportunities to visit Wakefield Park in 2016, with the exciting news the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) will hold a round of their series at the circuit on the Easter weekend.

There will also be a round of the Australasian FX Superbikes, along with several club-level motorcycling events.

Other key events on the calendar include NSW Time Attack in May, the Wakefield 6 Hour Regularity Relay in June, and the 24 Hours of Lemons in October.
