Tekno Autosports driver Shane Van Gisbergen unveils Watchpartners.com.au partnership

The Tekno Autosports, V8 Supercar team which campaigns the #97 VIP Petfoods entry for New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen have just unveiled a new partnership with online watch distributor Watchpartners.com.au.

Watchpartners retail some of the finest timepieces in the world, and are exclusive distributors across Australia and New Zealand for well-recognized manufacturers including BRM and Graham, two brands synonymous with motorsport worldwide.

The name BRM of course has an historic association with Formula One, with involvements that also include IndyCar and international sportscars competition, whilst Graham is a strong supporter of the GT Asia Series.

The new association will begin from the Darwin round of the V8 Supercar series, with the BRM and Watchpartners.com.au logos adorning the sides of the Tekno Autosports VF Commodore, whilst team-owners Jonathon and Kobe Webb, and the team’s popular driver Shane Van Gisbergen will also wear BRM timepieces from Watchpartners.

“It’s great for the team to be aligned with Watchpartners and the premium motorsport inspired brands they distribute in Australia and New Zealand,” Jonathon Webb said at the launch of the new partnership.

“Watchpartners offer something for everyone – whether you’re a collector or just need something practical to keep track of the time, they have a great range and it’s all online which means we can pass on benefits to our fans really easily, that’s something which really appeals to us as a team.”

“The BRM watches are great,” Van Gisbergen added. “They look awesome and are definitely inspired by motorsport, you can see all the intricate mechanical workings so for someone like me who likes to race anything mechanical it’s pretty cool that my BRM watch reflects that.”

“The team at Tekno are relatively small compared to their rivals yet very successful, which isn’t too dissimilar to our Watchpartners online business,” Watchpartners.com.au General Manager Jack Retman explained.

“Whilst we don’t have the physical footprint of the large jewelry chains, our online store represents some of the world’s leading watch brands, and to be able to promote our products alongside Tekno as their official timing partner is a huge step forward for us. We look forward to celebrating the team’s successes but also providing their fans with discounts on some of the finest timepieces in the world.”

All Watchpartners brands will be available to Tekno Autosports fans through their online store, and through the Tekno Autosports website, where they can receive discounts of already reduced prices.
