TA2 Racing challenge awaits Herne

Having turned some laps in a TA2 Racing car back in November, the Lismore, NSW-based driver is eager to get the series underway aboard his brand-new # 29 Gulf Western Oils Dodge Challenger, but he’s certainly under no illusions that his debut in the category is going to be without its learning curves.TA2 Racing Challenge Awaits Herne

While Herne and his team are hoping to achieve some competitive results throughout the year, recently enjoying a shakedown run at Ipswich’s Queensland Raceway to gain some track time, they won’t be shying away from putting in the hard yards, being dedicated to learning as much as they possibly can about the car.

“The goal for this year is just to learn the car and try to understand as much as we can about the different tracks and conditions,” explained Herne.

“The car is looking fantastic, so we’re really excited to make our debut this weekend in Sydney, and while we’re not putting too much pressure on ourselves, we’re aiming to work towards being a top-10 contender.”

In what is a huge coup for Herne, the youngster is pleased to welcome on board his 2019 major sponsor in Gulf Western Oil.

“I can’t thank Gulf Western Oil enough for coming on board to support me this year and it’s a real honour to be able to represent them,” the 16-year-old enthused.

“Gulf Western Oil are Australia’s biggest lubricants manufacturer, and I’m really looking forward to working with them and hopefully being able to bring home consistent performances throughout the year.”

Established in 1988, Gulf Western Oil was initially founded with the idea to design an oil specific to the Australian market and has since become one of Australia’s leading oil suppliers. To find out more about them, visit their website at www.gulfwestern.com.au.

Herne is proudly supported by the following sponsors in 2019: Gulf Western Oil, Herne’s Freight Service, North Coast Petroleum, Lickiss Fabrications, FX Signs, Revolution Racegear Herne’s Security Solutions, and local business Ace Allstars Cheerleading.
