Stauffer to start from pole position
Round 2 of the Australasian Superbike Championship has begun at Mallala Motorsport Park and #27 Jamie Stauffer has stormed to Pole position for tomorrow’s races.
The AFX-Superbike event to be held tomorrow forms the precursor to Sunday’s Swann Insurance Australasian Superbike Championship and Stauffer’s Pole position shows that the Round 1 overall victor is looking to continue his winning form.
Stauffer recorded a fastest lap time of 1:06.922 sec, “Today went really well for us. We had some solid practice sessions and a Qualifying session in the afternoon which has placed me on Pole for the races tomorrow. The Honda CBR1000RR SP that the team has provided is great to ride and I was able to record strong lap times early in the session. I know we will be strong tomorrow with some minor changes to the bike tonight.”
Team mate #47 Wayne Maxwell recorded the 4th fastest time in Qualifying, a 1:07.580 sec onboard the Motul Honda CBR1000RR SP.
Maxwell will round out the front row for tomorrow’s races with #16 Josh Hook to start from P5 on the grid with a fastest qualifying lap today of 1:07.596 sec. #17 Troy Herfoss, the newest recruit to Team Honda Racing will start from P8 on the grid tomorrow.
The 3 races tomorrow will decide the grid for Sunday’s Swann Insurance ASC event which can be viewed LIVE on Team Honda Racing’s website on Sunday only from 10am at http://www.teamhondaracing.
