Sprintcars headline Redline Raceway Labour Day weekend

The Sprintcar Racing Association returns to Redline Raceway this Saturday night with thirty stars and their race cars ready to do battle the next round of their state points score with all drivers currently sitting in the top ten nominated to compete. Also on the programme is a 3 Litre Sedan series round, Sports Sedans and Junior Sedans as supports.SPRINTCARS HEADLINE REDLINE RACEWAY LABOUR DAY WEEKEND

Current state points leader for the Sprintcars Corey McCullagh is hoping to bring out the big win this Saturday as second placed point scorer Charles Hunter had the win last weekend in Geelong, his first ever. Bobby Daly currently sitting third is ready to pounce if the door is left opened by the two top of the table racers, whilst Ballarat raised Sam Wren is another top ten competitor and one for locals to keep an eye on at his home race track.

Down through the field there are competitors not currently in the top ten to keep an eye on including Paul Solomon, Nick Lacey, Brett Milburn, Ryan Davis and Peter Doukas. It is a tough line-up right the way through and anything can happen.

Fans will be keen to see if the current one lap track record of 11.8 can be beaten and will get to see cars running three and four wide at times on this unique race track.

In the 3 Litre Sedans series round Lennie Clark is the main to beat and has been for some time in the class. Daniel Wilson the current Victoria two driver wants a win before the upcoming 3 Litre Sedan title whilst Ross Burrows is a Ballarat racer who knows his way around Redline Raceway with his eyes shut. He is keen for a podium position this weekend.

Darcy Wilson and Jaxon Vella lead the Ballarat locals in Junior Sedan racing at Redline this weekend whilst Todd Moule visits from Heathcote and is the driver most likely to win, however funny things do happen.

In Sports Sedans, drivers are just backing off after lots of big races in recent weeks and a big field will return later in the month, however this weekend Craig Phillips lines up as a potential favourite against Ricky Ashmore and Daniel Carter. Phillips has had a great season so far along with Carter, with Phillips the most recent winner from the two of them and a top five finisher at Redlines recent Sports Sedan feature.

Gates to the public open at 2pm, aiming for a 5pm race meeting start.

Entry is Adults $30 & Pensioners $25 Kids 5 to the age of 15 $5 or a family $70 (2 adults & 4 Kids) fully catered venue, no BYO as per law.
