Ross welcomes new backer for Townsville
MEDIA RELEASE: Sports car racer Fraser Ross will partner with leading cutting and welding brand, Cigweld, for the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia round in Townsville.
The reigning Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia champion will sport the Cigweld brand on his Porsche 911 race car for the Far North Queensland event as part of the fourth round of the one-make championship.
Ross is thrilled with the new partnership and looks forward to representing the Cigweld brand at one of the most popular events on the Australian motor racing calendar.
“I’m honoured to be able to represent Cigweld for the fourth round of the Carrera Cup championship. Cigweld is such a strong brand and one that fits tremendously with our Porsche Carrera Cup racing programme,” said Ross.
“Townsville is a great round and one which provides very strong broadcast exposure for our team and partners. Every session will be broadcast live on Fox Sports with two live races televised on Network Ten. Hopefully some impressive results on track can translate to great exposure for Cigweld.”
Cigweld’s Frank Mennea is also excited about the new partnership with Ross for the Townsville Porsche round.
“Fraser is a great young talent in one of the strongest motor racing championships in the country, so we are thrilled to throw our support behind him for the Townsville event,” said Mennea.
“Cigweld is a leading, innovative brand and I believe we will be well represented in the Carrera Cup championship by Fraser, who himself is a reigning Porsche champion. I’m sincerely looking forward to seeing how he performs at the Queensland event.”
The Porsche Carrera Cup Australia championship will hold its Townsville round on July 10-12, 2015, which is the most northern event on the Carrera Cup calendar.
