Mark Robinson started his 2019-20 season campaign in the best possible fashion on Saturday night at Lismore Speedway by taking out the annual Lord Mayor’s Cup event.
Mirroring his winning performance from last season, the NSW # 9 Castrol / Southside Truck Centre supported Troyer racer barely put a foot wrong on his home track to qualify for the feature race on pole position and then going on to lead it from start to finish.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the season with a win in front of my home crowd,” expressed the three-time Australian Champion, who had earlier in the night finished his two qualifying heat races with a win and a second.
“My team and I started the night with our usual base setup for the car and we didn’t really have to change too much on it (the car) throughout the night, so to be able to come out after a long off season and pick up a win straight up is a really pleasing result for everyone associated with our team.”
Robinson’s now is now on his next outing, which will see the team travel down to Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway on the Saturday night of November 30.
“With the Australian Championship being held down in Sydney later this season, it’s important to get down there and get some laps,” the reigning 5 Star Dirt Series Champion commented.
“The team and I have always enjoyed going to Sydney and hopefully we can put a good car on the track and then I can do my best to challenge for the win.”
Robinson is proudly supported in the 2019-20 season by the following sponsors:
