Off the back of last season’s successful return to V8 Dirt Modified racing, Mark Robinson is raring to go for what is going to be a jam-packed 2018-19 season schedule.

Jumping back behind the wheel of his NSW # 9 Castrol / Southside Truck Centre supported Troyer car last season, following a 12-month stint on the sidelines, the Lismore, NSW-based racer certainly enjoyed his fair share of success, which was highlighted by claiming the top honours in the 5 Star Dirt Series point standings for the third occasion in his 20-year career.

Once again planning to contest the 5 Star Dirt Series, which last season resulted in him clinching the third Queensland Title of his career, as well as claiming the runner-up spot in both the Australian and Victorian Titles, Robinson will be aiming to improve on last season’s performances to try and go one better and reclaim the Australian Title crown.

Planning to contest a total of 16 race meetings this season, Robinson’s schedule will also consist of three outings at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway; a track that he hasn’t visited since 2012, when he drove to the feature-race spoils.

To say that Robinson, a three-time Australian Champion, is looking forward to the season ahead would be quite the understatement.

“Getting back behind the wheel last season was a wonderful feeling, and to be able to enjoy the success that we did made our return even more enjoyable, and I can’t wait to get back out there,” expressed the 38-year-old racer.

“With a full season now under our belt following our break, the team and I are ready to go for this season. The plan is to build on last season’s momentum and consistently remain at the pointy-end of the field.”

For his first appearance of the 2018-19 season, Robinson will be competing this Saturday night at Lismore Speedway, where he will be vying for the Lord Mayor’s Cup win.

Robinson would like to thank his 2018-19 season sponsors: Castrol, Southside Truck Centre, Global Lubricant Distribution, GSR Suspension Development, Trevan Ford, Northern Truck Coolers, and A1 Signs. Special thanks must go to Robinson’s hard-working pit crew – Bud, Larry, Micka – along with his mum and dad (Faye and Steve), his wife Chloe and the kids, along with the rest of the team and supporters.
