Porsche 944 Challenge Series finale at Island Magic

The 944 Challenge field head into Honda corner at the recent VSRC round at Phillip Island
The final round of the 2022 Porsche 944 Challenge Championship culminates at the famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit with 18 cars entered for the event.
Jamie Westaway will be looking to continue his stellar 2022 season as he wraps up the club title but will have to deal with Cameron Beller who will be out for revenge and a round win, as well as Adam Brewer and the returning Lyndon Watson who will both be fighting for the podium spots and to unsettle the Westaway/Beller party at the front.
The battle for fourth in the club championship is also on in earnest with veteran Dick Howe, Club President Mark Taubitz, and series stalwart Tony Westaway all in contention for the spot, but they will have newcomer Joey Kellock as well as sandgroper Tim Wolfe coming over from WA to upset their party as well.
The midfield battle will also be one to watch with Mark Verdino, Toni Andreevski, Andrew Jackman, Josh Brisbane, and Keith Marriner all contesting to get the upper hand and gain positions in the points battle, while series rookies Vlad Kennedy and Carter Fox will also be continuing their development curve in preparation to come out guns blazing for the 2023 season.
Series Regulars Jim Mitchell and John Vainoras both return and are sorely due a change of fortune after some wretched luck at the past couple of rounds.
The 944 Challenge will hit the track at 09:10 with Race 1 at 13:10 on Saturday, and the final 50km 11-lap season finale to be held at 12:10 on Sunday.
