Young Australian, Rhys Pinter will be aiming to avenge his Rally Australia demons after a disastrous 2016 campaign.

Fast forward to 2017 and the new revamped team has never looked so good. Partner and Major Sponsor JDH Capital will again join Rhys’ RP Rally sport team whilst also signing new sponsors Northrop Engineering Australia and Civil Transport and welcoming back Atlantic oils as lubricant partner for the Rally Australia event. With JDH Capital on board and complimented by other partners, it has given the team the much needed injection of resources the car has needed.

‘It’s fantastic to have JDH Capital partner our team again for Rally Australia. We had a great result in Canberra and they were ecstatic with the result, considering it was a new team structure, new sponsor to the sport and a new outlook for me. They have been fantastic by assisting our little team with the resources needed to give me the confidence to push as hard as I can without any worry of the car failing or having to drive around a problem. It means I can show to the world what I and this car is capable of and I felt we definitely started that back in Canberra by taking on and beating international 4WDs in stages.’

Team Manager Jeff Luke echoed the praises of JDH Capital and the work undertaken by the team.

‘It’s great to see Rhys rewarded with the hard work by he and the team. JD has been great and our team cannot wait to see all the hard work pay off. We tried our best to get an R5 car here for the rally, but some last minute logistical issues stopped that. So instead our team fixed and replaced so much of the little Fiesta and now it looks and feels like a brand new car. An added bonus, this rally is in my backyard, and I hope that some local knowledge of the roads will assist us in setting up the car, for the best possible result.’

The team however will not be going into the event with any expectations except to see just how close Rhys and Phil can get to the quicker 2WD and 4WD cars.

‘I’m coming to the event with zero seat time from Canberra, however a pre event test should assist to get rid of any cobwebs. I will have Phil Hall back in the car which is great for my confidence and we get along well, so the expectations for us would be to have a clean run and get some decent times posted to hopefully kick start my career’ Pinter said.
