Perth to celebrate all things motorsport
The Celebration of Motorsport will come to Langley Park on Sunday August 12 and will be one of the largest free-to-attend displays of racing machines that Perth has seen.
Alongside racing cars from all eras and disciplines, attendees will be treated to an up close experience with a variety of other racing machines such as Soapbox racers, motorcycles and jet boats. There will also be trade stalls, family entertainment, food vans, 96FM and interactive displays.
Event organiser Ross Tapper encourages all motorsport clubs and trades to become involved in promoting their categories at the inaugural event.
“Thanks to the support of the City of Perth we will be turning the Riverside Drive area into a motorsport hub on the day,” Mr Tapper said.
“The area has always been a popular drawcard for motorsport enthusiasts who come out to enjoy the city stage of Targa West, and Shannons Classics on the Park which is a static display of over 200 of Perth’s finest classic vehicles. The Celebration of Motorsport will compliment these events with an additional programme of free family fun.
“The event is not only free to attend, but it will also be free for those wanting to display their vehicles or advertise their motorsport related business.
“We already have many exhibitors committed – but with such a large area to fill there is plenty of room for more!”
The Celebration of Motorsport will run from 8am until 4pm on Langley Park on Sunday August 12. Applications for exhibitors close on Monday August 6. To exhibit your vehicle or service, please register through the website at www.celebrationofmotorsport.com.au.
The Celebration of Motorsport is proudly supported by the City of Perth, 96FM and Make Smoking History Targa West.
