Michelin® Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2018 – the ultimate in racing and entertainment

Today marks three days until the world’s best motorcycle riders descend on the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from 26 – 28 October.

This year’s event is set to be better than ever with a bumper line-up of entertainment both on and off track, and the opportunity to witness five-time world champion and current title holder, Marc Marquez take on the flowing Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO, Andrew Westacott, can’t wait for the riders to take to the circuit at Phillip Island and showcase their talent to tens of thousands of fans this weekend.

“With Marc Marquez securing the championship last weekend, fans can look forward to seeing the reigning world champion take on the evergreen Italian superstar Valentino Rossi, Ducati powerhouse Andrea Dovizioso and Aussie favourite Jack Miller,” he said.

“International categories Moto2™ and Moto3™ will also hit the track, alongside the premier national class, Australian Superbikes, and up and coming talent in the Australian Supersport 300,” said Westacott.

The entertainment extends far beyond the track, with the chance to experience everything from the jam-packed GP Expo, fan forum stages, live music, food trucks and a Flair Motorcycle stunt show that will thrill onlookers.

Adding to the festivities, the Urban Alley is back again this year housing the Urban Chop Shop, Urban Artists and the Custom Plates Urban Garage. Just around the corner, the Red Bull Fan Cave will house some of the best seats on Gardner Straight and bring together a MotoGP™ gaming experience, live DJ and outdoor balcony area within arm’s reach of the racing action. Best of all, it’s open to all!

Admission for kids 14 and under is free*, and kids will be thrilled to take part in the Junior GP by Honda, giving junior racers a chance to test their skills at a purpose-built circuit in Gardner Village.

For the locals, the Community Day is back again, with Bass Coast Shire residents receiving complimentary General Admission to the event on Friday.

Fans can turn it up a notch, with improved amenities and ground protection, and new upgrades across the circuit – including six brand new weather-protected shelters – there’s never been a better time to complete your Phillip Island MotoGP™ experience.

For those still deciding on their travel options, from as little as $39 you could be on your way to the Island via Catch-A-Coach.

Tickets are selling fast and with plenty of accommodation options, now is the time to grab your mates and head down for an epic, adrenalin-fuelled weekend away!

*Kids 14 and under go free with any Adult General Admission ticket.
