Albury Freight Distribution Centre and Bridge Road Brewers Beechworth are the latest partners to join forces with Albury based Kumho V8 Touring Car Series Team Matt Chahda Motorsport.

The new sponsorship deals are a great boost to the team’s current partners, Albury’s Engine Master Australia (EMA) and Falcon Spares & Repairs.

The car will carry an updated livery for the second round of the V8 Touring Car series which will run as part of the fourth round of the Shannons Nationals at the teams home track Winton Raceway on June 12-15.

Driver Matt Chahda also welcomes Arnette Sunglasses Australia on board.

The team purchased the 2013 Kumho series Rd1 Race winning car from Justin Garioch at the end of 2013. The car is a Ford BF Falcon V8 Supercar built by Britek Racing and driven by Jason Bright in 2008.

The new car is now prepared in house by Amin and his team at CPR (Chahda Performance Racing) run out of the family Business; Albury’s Falcon Spares and Repairs.

Team Principal  Amin Chahda said “he and the rest of the team were proud to have so much local support on board” and is keen on repeating the stunning  Round 1 results young gun driver Matt Chahda had at Mallala in April.

“Matt was right up there in qualifying with Ryan Simpson just piping him at the post for P1 by less than a tenth of a second”

Matt came away from the Mallala round with a very unfortunate DNF whilst running second in race 1. Then in Race 2 having to start from last place and make his way through the entire field into to finish on the podium in third,. Race 3 Saw Matt start in sixth working his way up to third fighting Eggelston Motorsports Justin Ruggier for second before having to settle for a third place finish.

Having the speed at Mallala and taking it to the cars prepared by the likes of Sonic Racing and Eggelston Motorsport was overwhelming for the team. We had current DVS driver Aaron Tebb with us at Mallala, he helped us fine tune the setup and take the car to the next step and will continue to engineer the car for the rest of the year.

Matt is aiming at making inroads to the DVS series next year and is keen to get the chance to do a round or two this year if the budget can be found.
