Madsen and KMS reunite

FOR Kerry Madsen and the Krikke Motorsport team, it had been a total of 1045 days since they have raced together. However, last Wednesday night’s practice session at the Perth Motorplex ended the long separation, when Madsen jumped back behind the wheel of the WA # 2 Krikke Motorsport Maxim.

The 2020 Krikke Boys Shootout at Bunbury Speedway was the last occasion Madsen and the Krikke Motorsport team competed together, but Madsen has now returned to Australia after a three-year absence, and the team is looking forward to running this Saturday night’s $15,000 to win USA VS WA Speedweek Series finale at the Perth Motorplex – the first of four race meetings where they will run two cars – one for Kerry and the other for regular team driver Dayne Kingshott.

“We are excited about have Kerry back, as it’s been quite a while since he has strapped into one of the Krikke Motorsport race cars and gives us the opportunity to dial up our program for a few nights with two cars.” commented Krikke Motorsport team manager Ryan Krikke.

“Despite not having raced here in Australia for nearly three years, Kerry has done a lot of racing over in America, and we are confident of him hitting the ground running and being able to contend for the win.

“We will be running a two-car team with both Kerry and Dayne this Saturday night, it’s going to be a very busy time for the whole team, but we are well prepared and look forward to the challenge. Ideally, we want to see both cars up the front, and I strongly believe we’ve got the gear and two very capable drivers to do that. Apart from this Saturday night, we will be running a two-car team for the Australian Championship weekend and the following weekend’s Krikke Boys Shootout.”

After last Saturday night’s USA VS WA Speedweek Series finale, Madsen and the Krikke Motorsport team will head over to east coast to compete in the King’s Challenge (January 26 at Borderline Speedway) and the Grand Annual Classic (January 27, 28 and 29 at Premier Speedway). After that, they will return to the west coast for the Prelude to the Championship (February 8 at the Perth Motorplex) and then compete as a two-car team in the Australian Championship (February 10 and 11 at the Perth Motorplex) and the Krikke Boys Shootout (February 18 at the Perth Motorplex).
