Linscott set to tackle biggest event of his career
MEDIA RELEASE: Contract Resources Racings’ Matt Linscott will take on the NT HQ racers in a class field that will include the 2013 NSW HQ Champion Brett Osborn.
This will be the team’s first appearance in front of a V8 Supercar crowd and hope to put on a good show.
Matt said: “I am really looking forward to the challenge, I have always enjoyed going to a circuit I haven’t raced at before, it makes for an intense learning curve and is always exciting. It’s a great opportunity to showcase our category in front of a V8 Supercar crowd, with the added bonus of the top level teams being there.”
The team comes off a tough weekend at Mt Panorama, Competing in the HQ support category at the 6Hour where they suffered 2 blown engines.
The first expired on Conrod Straight during the second race, putting a rod through the sump.
Then found after fitting the spare engine it had split a bore at the Winton 4hr previously undetected.
Fortunately, Bob & Ken Wright (Vic) came to the rescue, not only lent us an engine to compete on Sunday but helped with the 2nd engine change in one night.
It is a full program with practice and qualifying on Friday, 2 races on Saturday and a final on Sunday.

The meeting will also be the longest road trip for the team, Steve and Kathy Linscott will take the truck “up the track” it will take 3 days each way, 6000km round trip. They are looking forward to seeing the outback and heading north in winter is always a good thing.
The trip to Darwin has been made possible by the support of Contract Resources’ Trevor Penny. Trevor will travel with his wife Esma from Houston Texas to be at the event.
The team also extends it’s appreciation for the continued support from Pirtek Adelaide based at Regency Park SA and Valvoline for all the top quality products we use.
We wish to welcome Tyrepower Victor Harbor on board, Scott & Judy have helped us get the wheels straight and the tyres right.
Also thanks goes to Boss Muscle cars in Horsham for getting a spare motor ready just in time, just in case, thanks Lester.
