Lestrup ready for 12 hours at Zandvoort with Besaplast Racing
Fresh from his third race weekend in the Australian Dunlop V8 Supercar series in Perth Fredrik Lestrup now heads over to Europe and Holland for the 12 hour race at Zandvoort.
He will once again join the German Besaplast Racing team for an endurance race and this time in the teams fast Audi TT RS.
“The Audi is great to drive and very fast so I’m really looking forward to this race,” Fredrik says.
“Zandvoort is one of those really classic tracks and I really enjoyed racing at it in 2012 in the ADAC GT Masters. It will suit the Audi really well and we will aim for a top result overall with this car. There are a few GT3 cars that are faster but as we’ve proved at Nürburgring the Audi can hold its own against the GT3 cars and mix in among them. With some clever strategy and a bit of luck we can spring a bit of a surprise. Thanks again as always to Besaplast for the confidence shown in me.”
Fredrik will share the car with Besaplast Racing team owner Franjo Kovac and Besaplast Racing team regular Martin Tschnornia.
The 12-hour race is split up in two parts due to local noice restrictions which means the race will start on Friday at 4 pm in the afternoon and run for three hours until 7 pm. Cars will then be entered in parc fermé until the restart at 10 am on Saturday when they will race for nine hours until the finish at 7 pm.
