Scott McLennan Racing | Car 77 | Scott McLennan and Cameron Mclean
After failing to greet the starter in April’s Willowbank 300, the Scott McLennan Racing Mitsubishi Mirage, of Scott McLennan and Cameron McLean, is back with a vengeance to tackle the third annual Lakeside 300 later this month.
Sponsored by McLean Motors Tyrepower, City Hire and Event Rentals, some serious work has just been completed on the Mirage, in readiness for the Queensland Endurance Championship finale, on September 30.
Running a 2.4L MIVEC engine, controller by a Haltec Computer and dash, it puts power to the ground through a 5-speed gearbox fitted, with an LSD (Limited-Slip Differential) and 17” Slicks.
McLennan is a regular in the QR Sports & Sedans series, run by Queensland Raceways, at both QR and Lakeside Park.
He won that Championship in 2016, and then backed up to claim second place last year.
McLennan is currently running in the 2018 series, and used last weekend’s third round, at Queensland Raceway, as a shakedown for the upcoming 300
As well as being a regular on the grid at Queensland Endurance Championship events, McLennan also competes in the Time Attack Series run by Queensland Raceways.
Once again, he’s teaming up with a man who needs no introduction – Cameron McLean.
McLean has previously competed in Sports Sedans, the Australian Super Touring Championship, for both BMW and the factory Volvo team, and, of course, over many years, he was either a main game, or an endurance driver in the Supercars Championship.
When he wasn’t competing in his own Greenfield Mowers Falcon, McLean raced, as a co-driver, for some of the biggest names in the sport, like Ford Performance Racing, Dick Johnson Racing, Garry Rogers Motorsport, and Stone Brothers Racing.
Make sure to keep your eye on this team as they are all in to make a mark at this year’s Lakeside 300.
