Lachlan Fitzpatrick from junior racing to top class modifieds
Lachlan Fitzpatrick a youngster from Bendigo who in recent seasons was the champion Junior Sedan driver at Rushworth Speedway and around the traps lead the state governed Victorian Speedway Council Juniors before late last season stepping into Sports Sedans, is now headed into the Modified Sedan ranks.
In this short yet busy off-season Peter, (Lachlan’s dad) and the team have been putting together the Speedway Sedans Australia Modified spec machine ready to give the Victorian Modified Promotional Association it’s full attention.
Fitzpatrick will have his first hit out at the scheduled Modified Sedan event at Heartland Raceway in Moama and Lachy cannot wait to get going.
“I know it is a step above what we have been doing, the equipment, the experience and the competitors are all a new level, that’s not to say that the people we have been racing have not been tough, it’s just that Modified’s is a new game for us. Dad knows what he is doing, he has experience at this level, so I am in good hands. I am confident that we will be very competitive. I cannot wait to race with Kye Walters, Brock Atkins, Graham West, Andrew Blackwell and all the other great racers.” Said Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick intends on competing with Sports Sedan’s still outside of Modified Sedan commitments and the team will be on track more often than not as has been the cast in the last couple of seasons.
