With their 2019-20 season campaign soon set to begin, the Krikke Motorsport team is pleased to announce their full season schedule, which will once again consist of the World Series Sprintcar (WSS) Championship, along with multiple other marquee events.
Off the back of a runner-up finish in last season’s WSS Championship with team driver Kerry Madsen, who is gearing up for round two with the Bunbury-based team this season, Krikke Motorsport are eager to go one better this time around as they take on the 14-round series for the 20th consecutive year.
As WSS sees them compete throughout South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and their home state of Western Australia, completing Speedweek, the Sunshine Swing and lastly the Western Swing, the team’s schedule will also be bolstered by the addition of numerous blue-ribbon events.
As per the last two years, Krikke Motorsport’s season will commence on the Saturday night of December 7 at the Perth Motorplex with the WA Title, an event the team have managed to win for the past two seasons running, first with Jamie Veal and then with Kerry Madsen.
Hoping to defend the WA title and get their campaign off to the best possible start, the team will also look to assert themselves during the busy month of January, which will consist of 14 nights of racing in 31 days, including major events at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway (NSW), Geelong’s Avalon Raceway (Vic), Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway (SA) and Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway (Vic).
Following the three-night Grand Annual Classic at Premier Speedway, which will take place over the Australia Day long weekend, the team will then travel to the Apple Isle to participate in the Australian Championship at Gulf Western & Independent Oils Raceway in Devonport, as Madsen shoots for his fifth and the team’s ninth victory in the event.
Krikke Motorsport’s season will close in late February with the Krikke Boys Shootout, an event close to the team’s heart.
“‘It’s a long winter when your season ends in early March and doesn’t start again until December, so we can’t wait to get underway next month,” expressed Krikke Motorsport Team Manager Ryan Krikke.
“We’re rapt to get things started with the WA Title again here in Perth in front of friends, family and our local sponsors. It’s worked well for us in the past, going back to back in the last two seasons, so hopefully we can make it a three peat this season.
“From there we head straight into the WSS schedule and we’ll complete other blue-ribbon events along the way. Like previous years, it’s a short and sharp season which suits us and Kerry, so we plan to make it count while we can.”
