Join Caitlin on her Journey to Le Mans 2020
“My ambition is to be the first woman to win the world’s most important endurance race – 24 Heures du Mans” – Caitlin Wood
My name is Caitlin Wood, I am a 20-year-old Aussie from Newcastle, NSW. I plan to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans and I would like you to join me on my journey.
Motorsport has always been a predominately male-dominated sport, which goes a long way to explain why a woman has never won Le Mans. However, there is no reason why women can’t compete with men on an equal basis and certainly no reason why a woman cannot win Le Mans.
Aussies are renowned for their tenacity and determination and I believe my journey to Le Mans will send a message to young Australian girls that with Passion, Hard Work, and Determination they can achieve anything they aspire to. For many young drivers, a drive in the Formula One World Championship is their ultimate goal. But for me, my burning ambition is to be the first woman to win the world’s most important endurance race – 24 Heures du Mans (aka: 24 Hours of Le Mans).
I would love you to join me on that journey.
“Passion, hard work and determination are the qualities needed to win Le Mans and to inspire the next generation of young Australian women!” – Caitlin Wood
Competing in GT racing is expensive, especially if you want to be competitive, let alone win. When you consider the cost of tyres, fuel, entry fees, test days, running costs, transport, accommodation plus the race car itself, the overall budget adds up pretty quickly!
To date, I have funded my motorsport career with help from my family and friends but, the next stage in my journey to Le Mans is to compete in the Blancpain GT Endurance Series properly. This will require a budget of around $400,000 for the 2018 season. However, for me to reach my goal of competing in the 24 Heures du Le Mans in 2020 I will need to raise mega bucks!
This is where I hope you, and tens of thousands like you, will join me on my journey to Le Mans in 2020. For as little as $5 (AUD) you can become a member of my ‘Fan Club’. For a few more dollars you can be a ‘Paddock Pal’ receiving regular news, views, and gossip from the world of GT racing.
However, if you really want to get involved, why not become a virtual member of my race team or sign up as a ‘Co-driver’ with privileged access to my personal blog, onboards, race info, behind the scenes action and much more.
We want to complete this project properly so you can get the most out of being apart of Caitlin Wood Racing, which will enable you to get off the sidelines to have your say and emerge yourself into all aspects of racing.
But for now we just need your support by signing up and sharing my journey.
Sign up NOW to be notified immediately when we go live so you can be the first to become apart of the team and join me on this crazy journey that is the 24 Heures of du Mans.
Thanks guys – Caitlin
