Hussey Racing Team announce second driver

Hussey Racing Team Announce Second DriverThe newly-formed Hussey Racing Team is excited to announce the acquisition of a second team driver in veteran circuit racing competitor Gary Baxter, who will be contesting numerous major events throughout the upcoming 2017-18 season aboard the Qld # 97 Dominator Super Sedan.

Bringing a wealth of motorsport knowledge to the fold, the Adelaide, South Australia-based racer, who is a two-time Australian Commodore Cup Champion, having won the event consecutively in 1995 and 1996, will be trading asphalt for dirt this coming season as he prepares to compete in several blue-ribbon events, including the National Title.

“I’m really looking forward to coming on board with the Hussey Racing team and I’m excited to be making my speedway competition debut in the upcoming season,” commented the director of driver training company Trackskill, who has also previously competed in V8 Supercars and V8 Utes.

“Having predominantly raced on asphalt over the years, dirt track racing is going to be a big challenge for me. My only previous speedway experience has been driving a Sprintcar with the Krikke Motorsport team during a sponsor’s day at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway a couple of years ago.”

Baxter will be joining another Hussey Racing Team driver in Ryan Alexander, who achieved the team’s maiden feature-race win in their only outing at the end of last season. Alexander will be contesting selected Queensland Series rounds throughout the upcoming season.

The Hussey Racing Team would like to thank their 2017-18 season sponsor AutoPro – Noosa for their support, as well as giving special thanks to Keith Hussey from Speedline Race Engines, Bernie Jack, Jason and Belinda Campbell, Mikaela Polzin and Kaiden Goninon.
