High hopes for Volvo Polestar Racing ahead of Perth 400

Scott McLaughlin
Volvo Polestar Racing drivers Scott McLaughlin and Robert Dahlgren are heading to Western Australia this weekend for the sixth V8 Supercars race weekend of 2014 for the Perth 400.
Dahlgren heads to Perth with yet another new circuit to learn and hopes to keep improving his pace.
”I kept improving my pace all the time during the past race weekend. I have never been to Perth, but from what I have heard it is quite hard on the tyres. Hopefully I can carry on the pace I had in the last race in New Zealand, then I will be strong,” said Dahlgren.
McLaughlin had a strong weekend in the previous race in his home country New Zealand where he scored two podium finishes and climbed to seventh in the drivers’ championship.
”We need another points haul like in the last round. Our Volvo has been very consistent and fast at most tracks this year. We need to continue climbing up the standings and try to not lose sight of the top five,” said McLaughlin.
The Perth 400 weekend starts on Friday with three practice sessions, followed by two qualifying sessions and two races of 42 laps each on Saturday. The weekend is crowned with a final qualifying session and a longer race of 83 laps on Sunday.
