Hartigan and Harvey’s successful season

During their first season together, Hartigan and Harvey have certainly hit the ground running, racking up an impressive seven feature-race victories in Limited Sprintcars, the largest of which was the hotly-contested King of the Hill event at Geraldton Speedway, along with another feature-race win in 410 competition.Hartigan and Harvey’s Successful Season

Collecting 15 heat-race wins and lining up in pole position four times, Hartigan’s efforts were well and truly rewarded, with the Perth, WA-based racer being named the 2018-19 season Rookie of the Year.

It was this consistency aboard the Peter and Tania Harvey owned WA # 83 ODH Mechanical – Karratha supported Maxim that allowed Hartigan to bank valuable points towards the overall WA Limited Sprintcar Championship point score in which 55 competitors participated, ultimately coming away with the runner-up spot.

Racing half of the weekends out of the year and travelling over 20,000 kilometres, to say that Daniel Hartigan and car owner Peter Harvey’s 2018-19 season was a hectic one would be quite the understatement, with the duo competing in no less than three different classes: Limited, 360 and 410 Sprintcars.

“It’s been a very strong season for us overall and I can’t thank Peter and Tania enough for supporting me and allowing me to race their car,” commented Hartigan, whose highlights also included picking up a heat-race win during a USA vs WA 410 Sprintcar Series round at Collie Speedway over the Christmas-New Year period.

“With over 30 race meetings across three different classes, this season has certainly been a busy one, but also very enjoyable. We’ve raced at 12 different tracks all across Western Australia and have gained some great experience, so we’re looking forward to seeing how we can capitalise on this experience next season and take our results to the next level.”

Planning to contest five race meetings during the Chariots of Thunder Series at Darwin’s Northline Speedway (NT) in August, Hartigan and Harvey will then look to complete a similar schedule next season, with the intent to increase their 360 and 410 Sprintcar racing subject to budget.
