South Australian racer George Gutierrez is looking forward to the challenge of Bathurst after a disastrous round at Sandown.
Toyota 86 Racing Series racer is aiming to bounce back from a difficult round at Sandown Raceway just three weeks ago in his freshly rebuilt race car with some new backing for this weekends round at the iconic Mt Panorama circuit.
“We’re on our way to Bathurst! That is something that I thought I wasn’t going to be able to say after Sunday afternoon at Sandown,” said Gutierrez.
“I honestly can’t put the words together to thank those people around me that helped make this possible. My family, all my sponsors and personal supporters who have all jumped in to help in some way to allow us to meet such a short deadline so we could make this round of the Toyota 86 Racing Series.”
“There has been so much hard work that gone unseen in the background, but our small family run team has proven itself, against the odds, to sit tenth in the championship standings.”
“Funnily enough Mt Panorama will be just the second track that we’ll visit this year, after The Bend, that will be somewhat familiar having raced there last year.”
“I’m still in disbelief that I have raced at this historic venue and I get to have another crack. This gives me goosebumps, there is nothing like it.”
Gutierrez wouldn’t have been able to get to Mt Panorama without the additional support of Plus IT, who has come on for this iconic event.
