Ford enthusiasts will find a new home at Willowbank Raceway next month when the Falcon GT Club’s All Ford Day joins the Queensland premier drag racing facility’s event line-up for the first time.
When it comes to Willowbank Raceway on July 20, the event will celebrate its 32nd birthday and become the third ‘marque-enthusiasts’ focused event on the track’s calendar joining Mopar Sunday (July 27) and GM Mania (September 7).
The introduction of the All Ford Day to Willowbank Raceway is a continuation of a new approach by the track first signalled in 2013 with the creation of GM Mania, as the track looks to offer something different to a wider group of motoring enthusiasts.
“The All Ford Day has been going strong for 31 years now and in 2014 will go outside of Brisbane for the first time,” said the Falcon GT Club’s Event Organiser Brett Cowles.
“By heading to Willowbank Raceway the All Ford Day will for the first time expand beyond a static display to also incorporate a driving element – we believe this is a Australian first for Ford enthusiasts events, especially when you consider the driving is going to be drag racing.
“The event will bring together a great mix of classic Fords from early to modern incarnations, with everything from classic early Fords like Cortinas and GT Falcons all the way through to modern FPVs – all of which will be able to race on the Willowbank Raceway stage.
“This year will be our most exciting event yet with more than 500 cars expected to take part in static displays as well as the on-track racing, while a live band plays and free kids rides are on offer.
“We will also have plenty of trade stalls, a swap meet and even a radio control car display to keep everyone entertained, while River 94.9 will be on-site for some live radio crosses.”
Gates for spectators open at 7.30am, with adult entry just $5.00 at the gate and children aged 13 and under gaining free entry.
Ford enthusiasts wishing to participate in the All Ford Day either in static displays or on-track need only to bring their Blue Oval pride and joy to the Raceway for Show n Shine gate open at 6.00am, with entry just $10.00 per show car and driver.
Show n Shine entrants are also able to participate in drag strip activity for an additional $20.00 (conditions apply, click here for more information).
For those interested in Swap Meet sites, sites are available at $10.00 with gates opening at 6.00am, while trade sites are also available through enquiry with Willowbank Raceway.

The Falcon GT Owners Club of Queensland Inc was formed on the 26th March 1981 by a small group of Falcon GT owners to socialise with and support each other in preserving and promoting the Falcon GT as Australia’s premier muscle car.
This small group of 10 founding members has grown over the years to our current membership in excess of 450 members spread mainly throughout Queensland but also encompassing the length and breadth of Australia.
The club welcomes all models of Falcon GT from 1967 to 1976 and 1993 to the present as well as associate members who own other V8 powered Ford manufactured vehicles.
Associate member numbers are limited by their constitution to 35 percent of the total membership number.
