MEDIA RELEASE – One of the world’s leading Original Equipment and Aftermarket manufacturers of automotive transmission and drivetrain products, EXEDY, is pleased to announce the company’s sponsorship of the 2016 Dunlop Supercar Series leader, Garry Jacobson at the final, title deciding round of the series.

EXEDY is the world’s largest Original Equipment clutch manufacturer for Japanese vehicles while also being a major Original Equipment supplier to Ford, General Motors, VW, Daimler and others. Locally, EXEDY is the leading brand of clutch kits and components for Australian and New Zealand automotive repairers, along with drifting and racing enthusiasts who are all supplied via a national network of key distributors.

The core of the EXEDY range is the OEM replacement clutch kit with the popular “5 Bit Kit” as the flagship product comprising everything a repairer needs to complete a clutch replacement properly. Complementing the range are performance products to suit lightly modified vehicles, vehicles used for towing or other situations which cause load on the drivetrain, 4WD applications, Racing Clutches as well as clutches for Truck and Agricultural applications.

EXEDY will be using the Dunlop Supercar Series to promote the company’s premium quality EXEDY Racing Clutch range along with their overall range of high performance replacement clutches and components. Signage will appear across the sides and on the front of Jacobson’s Prodrive Racing Australia Falcon FG-X and on Jacobson’s helmet at the Sydney 500 to be held from December 2 to 4.

EXEDY Australia Director and General Manager Kabel Davis is very pleased to be supporting the 24 year old Shepparton based Supercar driver in his challenge to win his first Dunlop Supercar Series title at the Sydney 500 next weekend.

“I have been keeping an eye on the Dunlop Supercar Series this season and the racing at the front of the field has been nothing short of sensational,” Mr Davis stated.

“The opportunity to partner the EXEDY brand with a driver of Garry Jacobson’s talent at such an important and pivotal time of his career is one that we are looking forward to immensely.

“There is no doubt that Garry is one of the major success stories of the 2016 season and we hope that our ‘Number One in Clutch’ slogan will be replicated with Garry earning the coveted number one champion’s plate after the Sydney 500,” Mr Davis added.

For Jacobson, this partnership with EXEDY represents his first sponsorship involvement with a major global brand.

“It is incredibly exciting to welcome EXEDY as a personal sponsor for the Sydney 500, which has all the makings of a thrilling Dunlop Supercar Series grand final, considering what the racing has been like this season.

“It is also humbling to have been selected by a company that is also a globally renowned brand in the automotive industry. I look forward to making everyone at EXEDY along with their huge auto trade and high performance customer base both here and abroad very proud,” Jacobson said.

Jacobson heads to the seventh and final 2016 Dunlop Supercars Series round at Sydney Olympic Park next weekend with a 166 point lead ahead of his Prodrive Racing Australia team mate, Jack LeBrocq and with a 300 point buffer to third placed Paul Dumbrell.

EXEDY will be joined at the Sydney 500 by an additional new Garry Jacobson sponsor in Ultra Air, who are also warmly welcomed to the championship finale on board the number 6 Challenger Valve Racing PRA FG-X Falcon.

Garry would not be challenging for the Dunlop Supercar Series title in Sydney without the season long support of his loyal sponsor group; Challenger Valves and Actuators, MGA Insurance, Bike Gallery, Performance Health Care and McQuinn Electrical.
