Queensland young-gun Sean Evans is committed to establishing himself as as a professional racing car driver after he impressed in his Trans-Am 2 Series test at Queensland Raceway.
The former karter was immediately on the pace under the watchful eye of Trans-Am 2 racer and former Supercars team owner Craig Harris.
“There are thousands of kids coming through the ranks trying to do the same thing, but he definitely has the talent to go very far,” said Harris.
“Sean listened very well and absorbed every bit of information we passed on to him.
“He took it all onboard and was immediately on the pace.”
Evans looks forward with the aim to secure a drive at the upcoming round of the Kumho Tyres V8 Touring Car Series at Queensland Raceway, in support of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship on July 28-30.
“It would mean so much to me as it would be the start of my professional racing career,” said Evans.
“I’ve raced with guys like Chaz Mostert in karts, racers who i’ve looked up to and guys i’m confident in competing with on a level playing field.”
Evans hopes to secure the required budget to compete in the V8 Touring Cars Series, as he chases the dream of a full-time seat in the Supercars Championship.
“As the third-tier series to the Supercars, the V8 Touring Cars is the perfect place to kick start my career.”
