MEDIA RELEASE: Momo Tires has joined Erebus Motorsport for the 2016 V8 Supercars season supporting both the #4 and #9 Supercars.
Debuting in Australia’s premier category, Momo Tires has been involved in various facets of motorsport globally for over 50 years.
Momo Tires Marketing Manager, Scott Crosher, said Erebus Motorsport’s dynamic culture appealed to the company.
“Erebus Motorsport is a dynamic team on the rise and a partnership with them provides us with a wonderful opportunity to engrain Momo Tires within Australia’s premier racing category,” said Crosher.
“We believe in the team and the drivers – David Reynolds is a brand ambassador for our affiliate brand, TSW Alloy Wheels.
“The Momo brand has a rich heritage in racing since its launch in 1964 by endurance racer Gianpiero Moretti including sponsoring race teams and providing components such as steering wheels and race seats for Formula 1, IndyCar and other categories.
“The Momo brand is famous the world over for producing high-quality racing components including steering wheels, pedals, and race seats.
“As a new addition to the global tyre market, Momo Tires is focussed on continuing to evolve our range of patterns and sizes to meet the needs of the Australian tyre market across applications such as passenger, commercial and SUV.
“Although tyres are a relatively new market for Momo, its fundamental principles still apply: product quality, superb craftsmanship, the highest safety standards, and superior performance levels.”
Delighted with the new partnership, Erebus Motorsport’s Barry Ryan said the team would see benefits of the Momo Tires relationship.
“The Momo brand has experience across many areas of racing – from steering wheels and pedals, to race seats and tyres,” said Ryan.
“And while the V8 Supercars category utilises a control tyre, we are looking forward to working with Momo to develop multiple aspects of the race cars.”
