Following what was a hugely successful campaign last season, driver Tim Weir and car owner David Clarkson will once again be applying their proven winning formula on the track in the 2019-20 season, this time increasing their schedule across both Modified Sedans and National 4s. 
While there were plenty of positives to draw from their selected appearances throughout last season, with the duo exceeding expectations from the outset with the Qld # 58 Clarko’s Performance supported XE Ford Falcon, Weir and Clarkson rose to new heights in the latter stages of their campaign, clinching what was an unexpected victory in the Queensland Modified Sedan Title at Gympie’s Mothar Mountain Speedway.
It’s riding this wave of confidence that the pair have gotten their 2019-20 season underway with a shakedown run recently with the Gold Rush at Mothar Mountain Speedway, planning to contest approximately 30 race meetings across the two classes, including both Queensland Titles and the Kings Royal in Modified Sedans.
“We ended up achieving more than we thought we would last season and we were extremely proud of our efforts,” admitted Weir, who wrote his name into the history books last season by becoming the first ever Queensland SSA driver to win a pair of Queensland Titles in two different classes in a single season, securing the crown in both Modified Sedans and National 4s, the latter aboard his own car.
“This season, we’ve decided to increase our schedule and challenge ourselves a bit further in order to see what else we’re able to accomplish. We’re looking forward to attempting to defend our Queensland Titles and hopefully picking up some more positive results along the way.”
The next outing for Weir and Clarkson will be the Saturday night of October 26 at Mothar Mountain Speedway aboard the National 4.
