Coppin and Kelly return to the Australian Rally Championship in 2018

Former Canberran and now Queenslander, Adrian Coppin will return to the CAMS® Australian Rally Championship (ARC) in 2018 after sitting out last year’s series.

Having previously driven for Ford and then Citroen in front-wheel drive vehicles, Coppin used an ex Bates S2000 4WD Corolla in the 2016 championship.

This year, he {Coppin} will drive a new Peugeot 208 AP4 run by Perth’s Race Torque Engineering, “I tested the car before Christmas and it is undoubtedly the best rally car I have ever driven” Coppin said. “It does everything as you expect, and I felt immediately comfortable behind the wheel.”

In addition to a new car, Coppin will be joined by a new partner in national telecommunications carrier Optus and returning sponsor Castrol.

“I am really excited to be able to announce the partnership with Optus and Castrol. Both companies are household brands and I think that their involvement with my team and with rallying is an important step forward in the development of the CAMS® ARC.” Adrian said.

“I’m also really pleased that my long-time supporters, Autografika are back for another year“

Adrian will continue his successful association with co-driver Erin Kelly, also a Queenslander, and the pair will commence pre-season testing in the coming weeks. “I’m really happy to be back in the ARC again with Adrian and a new car” Kelly said

After a season hampered by problems in 2016, Coppin’s goal for this year is simple. “I am not here to make up the numbers. I plan to mix it with the front runners and I want to win a championship round. I’ve gone close in the past and its unfinished business.” Coppin said.
