Clasener and Farr join for Archerfield farewell

THE Clasener Motorsport team are delighted to announce that veteran racer Robbie Farr will be joining them for a one-off appearance to contest the farewell race meeting at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway in Queensland on June 2 and 3.

When it comes to the Hobart, Tasmania-based Clasener Motorsport team and Farr, they are far from strangers, as team owner Tony Clasener explained. “Over the past 12 months, Farry and I have worked together to help my own racing program through his driver coaching services, and we have built up a rapport, so I made an offer to him to run the farewell race and he happily accepted.”

Since debuting at Archerfield Speedway over three decades ago, Farr has enjoyed plenty of success at the venue driving for various race teams, with major wins such as World Series Championship rounds, Queensland Titles and Easter Trail rounds. He holds the record for the most Queensland Titles with six wins (2001, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2017) with the majority won at Archerfield Speedway.

“With Farry’s strong affiliation with Archerfield Speedway, I was keen to get him into the team in order to farewell the track. The team has recently purchased some new cars and Robbie will debut the Tas # 20 Maxim with a Garrett 410 engine,” Clasener said.

“We are determined to provide Farry with a strong package that will allow him to be a serious contender over the two nights and hopefully the team and I can help him farewell the track in style.”

Farr added, “It just makes sense when you live 30 minutes away from the track to do the farewell show, so when Tony called it was an easy decision to make,” he said. “He has bent over backwards to accommodate me into the team, and I appreciate all of the effort he’s going to for this meeting.”

Special thanks to Comiskey Mining Services who have come onboard as the major sponsor for this farewell event. Also, to our season supporters Pro Kerb Tasmania, Hyperdrive Kart Racing and Precision Autos.

Following next month’s Archerfield Speedway farewell race meeting, Clasener will be taking the Tas # 20 car north to contest the 2023 season in the Northern Territory at Darwin’s Northline Speedway, beginning on June 24.

“I’m going to be running most of the season up in the Northern Territory myself in order to get more racing laps during the off season down south,” Clasener enthused.

“I’ve ran up at Northline Speedway two seasons ago for the Chariots of Thunder Series, and I had an absolute ball up there, so I’m looking forward to getting back there and gaining more experience as a racer.”

When it comes to Farr’s future with the Clasener Motorsport team, Clasener stated. “At this stage, Farry has just committed to running the Archerfield Speedway farewell event with us. As much as we are keen to do more events with him, no plans have been made at this stage.”

Clasener Motorsport would like to thank their 2022-23 season supporters:
