Charge continues to shine

The impressive 2019-20 season campaign continued for Jordyn Charge following two standout results during the hectic Christmas-New Year period.Charge Continues to Shine

It all started for Charge with the seventh Eureka Garages & Sheds Series round at Simpson Speedway on December 27, and he proved that his round five win at Wangaratta City Speedway earlier in the month was no fluke with him coming away with a great victory. A few nights later, he managed to bounce back from a crash on December 29 to record an eighth-place finish in last Wednesday night’s fifth World Series Championship round at Premier Speedway.

At Simpson Speedway, following an eighth-place finish at Avalon Raceway the previous night’s Eureka Garages & Sheds Series round, Charge was on the pace throughout the night and managed to start from the outside of the front row for the feature race. From the drop of the green flag, Charge was able to outpace pole sitter Brett Milburn and then went on to never be headed for the entire 30-lap journey.

After collecting his third feature-race win of the season, Charge the next night ventured to Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway for the second World Series Championship round, where he managed to impressively qualify into the feature race but was forced to retire due to a suspected engine issue aboard the Vic # 60 Western Nissan – Caroline Springs / Western Highway Honda supported Triple X car on lap seven.

With the engine issue all fixed, Charge the following night entered the third round of the World Series Championship at Premier Speedway. The night was him wasn’t a good one, after his run was brought to a premature end due to being involved in a crash in his opening heat race, which caused some chassis damage.

Charge and his family team burned the midnight oil to repair the damage to the car in time for the fourth round of the World Series Championship at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway on December 30, but unfortunately, it was forced to be cancelled due to the wet weather.

In Charge’s latest outing on Wednesday night, Charge was able to bounce back to form amongst a field of the country’s best Sprintcar racers in the fifth round of the World Series Championship back at Premier Speedway. Managing to qualify directly into the feature race from position 13, Charge was able to stand tall and show great speed, which saw him pass the likes of American Lucas Wolfe and two-time Australian Champion David Murcott on his way to greeting the chequered flag in eighth place.

There is no question that the 20-year-old racer from Melton, Victoria is enjoying a breakout season in Sprintcars.

“I’m really happy with how this season is panning out and the results we have been able to achieve along the way amongst so much tough competition,” expressed the fourth season Sprintcar racer, who earlier this season collected his first 2019-20 season feature-race victory in the 360 Sprintcar Gold Cup at Hamilton’s Western Speedway.

“Our team is a full family operation and we put everything we can to make this deal come together as we run on a very small budget, so to be able to enjoy the pleasing results that we have so far this season makes it all the more rewarding.”
