Double R Racing team are eyeing a podium finish this weekend, when the British Formula 3 Championship resumes for the season’s third event at Snetterton circuit.

Macanese driver Andy Chang is the leading Double R Racing pilot in the series, currently sitting third in the championship standings in his debut season.

The 17-year-old claimed two podiums during his maiden Formula 3 weekend at Rockingham in early May, but missed out on a top three finish at the last round at Silverstone.

American teammate Camren Kaminsky enters the East Anglia round fifth in the standings in his rookie season, after recording top four results at both Rockingham and Silverstone.

Team boss Anthony Hieatt said the Woking-based outfit was happy with the development of their rookie drivers, and is hopeful the team will recover from their difficult round at Silverstone.

“We’re feeling pretty confident for Snetterton,” he said.

“Andy and Camren are progressing all the time with their understanding of the car and the target is definitely a podium return at the weekend.

“Silverstone proved a bit tougher than the opening rounds at Rockingham, but I think Snetterton should be good – hopefully we’ll be on the pack from the off.”

Qualifying for the third event of the British F3 season will commence this Saturday at 11.20 AM local time.
