carbon-connect AG becomes Promotional Partner of the Sauber F1 Team
The Sauber F1 Team is pleased to announce carbon-connect AG as Promotional Partner. Carbon-connect AG is a Swiss-based company that makes a significant and innovative contribution to climate protection and sustainable development. With the new partnership the Sauber F1 Team races for the fourth year carbon-neutral.
This partnership has the objective to achieve a sustainable contribution to the environment. Carbon-connect AG will determine greenhouse gas emissions by Sauber Motorsport AG, including all activities by the company – freight transport to the races, as well as travel by all personnel to the races. In the following neutralisation of the greenhouse gases, Sauber Motorsport AG supports a project in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. In this project, the amount of greenhouse gases Sauber Motorsport AG has created will be compensated for. Sauber Motorsport AG decided to go for an overcompensation of ten percent.
The REDD APD project in the Brazilian Amazonas state has the objective of conserving and obtaining the forest area as well as refraining from deforestation. Furthermore, a sustainable utilisation of wood will be supported in order to protect and obtain the forest’s biodiversity. This project involves the following five forests: Rio Capim, Poty, Cauaxi, Sumal and Cacule; the area contains 209.130 hectares in total. Within the next ten years, the project will have neutralised around 9.5 million tons of carbon dioxide.
