Local trucking business, Canberra Trucks, has thrown its support behind the opening round of the Australian Super Truck Racing Series at Wakefield Park, May 17-18.
After successfully sponsoring last year’s Super Truck races at the Goulburn circuit, the trucking sales and service company is back in 2014.
Canberra Trucks sales manager James Gildea said the event is an ideal promotional platform for the business.
“The truck racing event is popular among many of our customers, and it allows us to target the truck industry demographic, which is where our business comes from,” Gildea said.
“It’s a very strong event for the region, which attracts spectators not only from Goulburn, but also Canberra, Wollongong and surrounding areas.
“As a family-operated company, we’re proud to support local events and we also love the spectacle of trucks going fast; they’re exciting and spectacular.”
Wakefield Park circuit manager Matthew Ronke said the sponsorship was a major boost for one of the track’s most popular events.
“Truck racing has proven to be a drawcard for many race fans, so we’re pleased to have the support of local companies who recognise the promotional value and the exposure,” Ronke said.
“Wakefield Park brings many economic benefits to the region and the Canberra Trucks sponsorship arrangement demonstrates the kind of value it creates for local businesses.”
The Super Trucks will run as part of the AASA NSW State Championship race meeting which also includes a two-hour Production Touring Car endurance race along with other support categories.
