Once the track was back to safe conditions, he edged away to take the win – his second of the season – and in the process has moved himself into the top five of the Championship.

The Firestar Developments/Marriott Vacation Club-backed driver was elated with the win.

Earlier in the day, he advanced from his eighth placed qualifying position to finish the opening race in third position in what was a fine drive.

QUOTEBOARD – BROC FEENEY #93:

“I’m absolutely ecstatic with the win, by no means was it easy, it was one of the hardest races I’ve ever had to do,” explained Feeney. “After a small off-track excursion in the last set of turns early in the race, I was able to put my head down and concentrate – I soon realised that I had pace up my sleeve.

“It’s the first time that I’ve driven this car in the wet and we’ve proved today that we’ve got pace both in the wet and dry conditions.

“The Safety Car didn’t come at a great time for us as I was in a position to pull away, but I still got the win, so I’m ecstatic!

“Tomorrow we’re off the pole position for the final race, so hopefully can grab a bit more of the same and pull in some even more points for the Championship.”
