Birthday time for Redline as she turns 50 this Saturday night
Turning 50 is a big deal at any time and this Saturday night you are all invited to celebrate Redline Raceways big occasion with the opening race meeting of 2017/18 in what will be a great season of dirt track action.
This Saturday night is the annual ‘Trophy Day’ show with Standard Saloons, Sports Sedans, V8 Thunder Sedans and Street Stocks amongst classes with the potential for couple more to join in, right off the bat Australia’s best Street Stock competitor Anthony Beare will go head to head with one of the best Brad McClure in the Street Stock field, whilst in the Standard Saloon’s there is a quality field of entrants with the Hill Boys from Gippsland Russell and Brad bringing their weapons to battle against Redline’s locals and the best ever Standard Saloon racer, Scott Whittle.
Through the season at Redline the big races will keep coming right at you, starting with the Street Stock ‘King of the Mountain’ on November the 18th with 50 plus entrants competing for the prestige and the cash.
On the first Saturday night in December, the Sprintcars come to town with Victoria’s best competing in the state series, the event is early in the season of the premier Sprintcar competition in the Garden State and the best drivers should be on the Mount trying to lock down a great start to their season. Standard Saloons join in with their annual ‘Chivers Memorial’ attracting Victoria’s best in that category.
Super Sedan’s return in December also whilst in January the CT525 powered Victorian Sprintcar Association and the Eliminator for Street Stocks is on January 13th.
Australia Day weekend will be a huge weekend for the AMCA Nationals division who will hold their Australian title with competitors coming from every direction across our great nation. With their Crate 350 engines up against 253 V8 engines revheads will be kept happy for this one.
In another cracking show, the Super Sedans return in February with the Victorian Super Sedan title on the 10th along with on the very same night, the Ern Overall Memorial for Modified Sedans.
Sports Sedans round out February with their ‘Masters’ event with the Formula 500s on the same program on the 24th.
The Labour Day long weekend in March brings us the third major Street Stock feature of the season with the ‘Gold Rush’ event across two days attracting sixty competitors or more once again, the CT525 Sprintcars and Late Model Sedans on alternative nights add to the attraction.
Speedcars return to the Mount for the second of the March race meetings, we have two shows in April closing out with the annual ‘Track Championship’ show before the ‘Queen of the Mount’ for Ladies Street Stocks closes out the season in May with the Junior Sedan Association.
This season, there is something for everybody at Victoria’s best dirt track on top of Mount Buninyong.
This Saturday gates open to the public on Saturday at 2pm with racing from 5pm, prices for this meeting are for a single adult $15- and $30 for a car load, so why don’t you bring your mates and introduce them to the Speedway.
There will be ‘face painting’ for the Kids and Clowns performing around the venue, full catering is available and a fully stocked bar, (No BYO due to alcohol licence conditions).
