Currently in preparation to commence his fifth season in 410 Sprintcars, Guy Stanshall is champing at the bit to get back into the driver’s seat, with his 2018-19 season shaping up to be a busy one.

Planning to contest the full 410 Sprintcar schedule at his home track – Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway – aboard last season’s NSW # 18 Triple X car, before upgrading to a brand-new Triple X in readiness for the Christmas-New Year period, the 23-year-old racer will also be returning to roots, running double duties and contesting a dozen Wingless Sprint race meetings.

While he managed to qualify for feature races sporadically during the 2017-18 season in the Sprintcar, Stanshall is determined to improve his efforts throughout this coming season in qualifying time trials.

“Consistency in the Sprintcar is going to be my main focus,” commented the Quakers Hills (western Sydney, NSW) resident.

“I need to be hitting my marks from the outset in time trials and then be able to carry that form through to the heat races in order to qualify for more feature races.”

Stanshall’s 2018-19 season will also be bolstered by the acquisition of a new major sponsor in First Class Aluminium, who will be coming on board to support Stanshall from the Christmas-New Year period. Based in the industrial Sydney suburb of Camellia in NSW, First Class Aluminium specialise in the manufacturing of aluminium windows and security doors for a range of clients. The upcoming season for Stanshall is set to commence at Valvoline Raceway on the Saturday night of September 29 with the opening Ultimate Sprintcar Championship NSW round, which doubles as the Lord Mayor’s Gold Cup. He also plans to travel to Toowoomba’s Hi-Tec Oils Speedway in Queensland for selected 410 Sprintcar shows throughout the season, in addition to competing in selected NSW Wingless Sprint Club Championship rounds, which will be sponsored by Pass Powdercoating & Sandblasting.

Stanshall would like to thank his dad Ray, veteran crew chief John Barrett for his continued help at the track, his engine builder Alan Felsch, and his pit crew Shane Sonter, Darren Young and Nathan Stevens.
