  • First local distributor for iconic British luxury sportscar brand’s motorsport division
  • Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and Vantage GT4 race cars now locally available with full race support
  • New Vantage achieves title success in British GT, Blancpain GT Pro-Am and is a multiple winner in the FIA World Endurance Championship

9 December 2019, Auckland, New Zealand – Aston Martin Racing has appointed an Official Distributor for the Australasia region for the first time. The announcement follows Aston Martin Racing’s success in 2019 across various campaigns and customer racing programmes in the UK, Europe, North America and Asia with the new Vantage.

Aston Martin Racing Australasia is based in Auckland, New Zealand, and will be responsible for sales of the purpose-built Vantage GT3 and Vantage GT4 race cars as well as providing customers with a comprehensive support infrastructure. This will include a team of six specialist technicians and engineers, and a full inventory of spares and components available at all GT Championship and Endurance Series events. Additionally, Aston Martin Racing Australasia will retail the brand’s official motorsport merchandise locally.

Greg Brinck, Director, Aston Martin Racing Australasia said: “Aston Martin Racing’s commitment to building the Vantage GTE, Vantage GT3 and Vantage GT4 is a true indication of its focus on customer racing and the success achieved internationally this year is testament to its motorsport credentials and this has appeal to local customers seeking a proven and winning performer on the track.”

“What Aston Martin Racing Australasia offers is security and assurance to anyone wanting to purchase an exclusive Aston Martin Racing vehicle. We provide our customers with a complete turnkey racing package with technical expertise and support to ensure they achieve consistent performance, are competitive and importantly, can enjoy an outstanding experience out on the track.”

Strong local traction for Aston Martin Racing

David King, President, Aston Martin Racing, said: “We’re pleased to see Aston Martin Racing Australasia launch after an exceptional year for our brand on and off the track around the world. Aston Martin Racing Australasia’s vision for bringing experienced race teams as well as GT Club racing enthusiasts into the Aston Martin brand is a perfect complement to our own focus of growing our customer racing programme internationally.

“Pleasingly, they have already secured their first customers, with a Vantage GT4 competing recently at the NZ Endurance Racing Championship at Hampton Downs, New Zealand, and a new Vantage GT3 competing at the iconic Mount Panorama in Bathurst, Australia.”

Prior to founding Aston Martin Racing Australasia, its Director Greg Brinck enjoyed a 17-year tenure with the Giltrap Group, most recently as general manager for Aston Martin Auckland. That experience and relationship with Aston Martin has translated into immediate local sales for Aston Martin Racing.

“We were very excited to see the new Vantage GT3 debut at Bathurst given its strong performance in Europe earlier in the year,” Brinck said. “We’re seeing healthy early interest in both the Vantage GT3 and Vantage GT4 by team owners as they start to look at competitive options for next year’s Australian GT Championship and New Zealand Endurance Series.”

Not only is the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 expected to appeal to race teams and experienced racers, it also offers an ideal first step into club racing or acts as a great track day car for enthusiasts wanting to experience race car performance and safety levels.

Brinck continued: “While owners with the top end performance cars enjoy doing laps it can be hard on those cars from a wear and tear perspective. Over the last few years I’ve seen an appetite among supercar and sportscar owners to move into more track-focused vehicles and the purpose-built Vantage GT4 track car is a perfect option for this as it can be used in Club Days as well as in the Endurance Series, and our support team are onsite with them at all times.”
