Buzadzic made another rapid start, gaining four positions in the opening lap. For the remainder of the race, he become involved in some close battles with several other competitors.

“Once again, the car was good although the tyres were starting to fall away a little bit, because they had been on the car all weekend and were starting to wear out,” he said.

Buzadzic finished second overall for the weekend in the Pro-Sport Class, and would have won the round if not for the DNF in Friday’s Trophy Race.

“It was only a very minor problem that put us out on Friday, and I was very happy with our speed over the rest of the weekend,” Buzadzic said.

Buzadzic thanked his team for their efforts.

“Overall, it’s been a productive weekend – we made a lot of progress with the car and with my driving,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to the last three rounds at Sydney Motorsport Park, Bathurst and Sandown, which are all circuits I enjoy.”

Round 5 of the Touring Car Masters will be held as part of the Muscle Car Masters event at Sydney Motorsport Park, 30 August-1 September.
