Altatek Racing launches Young Driver programme
Melbourne-based team Altatek Racing has today announced the launch of the Altatek Young Driver Program, providing a clear pathway for young talent looking to move from karts into a successful career in cars.
Altatek Racing competes in the Victorian and Australian Formula Ford Championships, with a view towards becoming the preeminent motorsport team in Australia. Formula Ford is renowned as being an excellent stepping stone for young drivers looking to progress up the motorsport ladder, with all Supercars champions since 2003 having raced in the category during their early years.
The Altatek Young Driver Program will recognise some of Australian motorsport’s best up and coming talent, giving them an opportunity to build their profile in the Australian motorsport landscape and improve their skills both off and on the track. Young drivers will have access to guidance from Altatek’s team of experienced engineers and driver coaches, as well as learning opportunities in areas including media training, nutrition, mentality,
sponsorship and brand development.
Inaugural members of Altatek’s Young Driver Program include Kobi Williams, who will be spearheading Altatek’s charge in the Australian Formula Ford Championship, Toby Dvorak, runner up in the 2022 Australian Kart Championship KA2 class, and Patrick Buckley, 2022 Australian Kart Championship KA4 Junior champion. More young drivers will be announced as part of the program throughout its first year.
Altatek director Glenn Jagger spoke of his reasons for launching the Altatek Young Driver Program. “Altatek was founded out of a passion for helping young talent succeed in motorsport. I always recognised that there was an abundance of talent in the Australian karting scene which was often not recognised by the wider Australian motorsport community. If we can do our bit to help the future of Australian motorsport with opportunities and development, we will have succeeded.”
Altatek Racing will begin their season at the first round of the Victorian Formula Ford Series at Sandown this weekend, February 18-19. The Australian Formula Ford Series kicks off at Morgan Park, QLD next month, March 18-19. Follow Altatek Racing’s social pages for updates, racing schedules and broadcast details.
