This Saturday night Alexandra Speedway has its last race event leading into Christmas before closing for the summer months; fifty race drivers will entertain fans whilst Santa has agreed to pop in to visit the kids.

For the Christmas Cup, all the local club classes are competing along with the visiting Goulburn Ovens Sedans from the North East of Victoria and Riverina New South Wales with great car counts in the Sports Sedans and Junior Sedan categories.

Sports Sedans fresh from their annual blue ribbon feature event last meeting will produce their usual incredible speed and noise with Luke Fallon the pre event favourite to be challenged by the likes of Ricky Cornwall from Croydon, Jack Van Bremen of Lilydale, Dale Smith, Josh Service and Lee Beach. Fallon will be difficult to defeat after his podium last meeting, however the challengers are all keen for their first Sports Sedan feature win at Alexandra.

The fastest Standard Saloon around Alexandra Speedway Gary Evans returns and his entry will give the field a tough challenge for the night. Aaron Meakins, John Watson just about the oldest race driver going around the dirt tracks, Jonny Ravet and Cory Horter are amongst the competition.

In the national All Star Junior Sedan class Courtney Meakins will try to make it two wins from two starts on her home track with her brother Rhys, Chloe Sheerman herself a race winner this season and Jeremy Gorski amongst some of the drivers Meakins has to defeat and in the New Star Junior class for rookie and developing drivers, Linken Patterson leads the nominations after he won two weeks ago with Luke Cornfoot, Tenayah Barton, Jordan Pegg, Dillon Taylor and Jayden Bryant all keen to finish ahead of him this time around.

State governing body Junior Sedans include last race meeting winner Ally Morrison again up against Courtney Meakins whom she defeated last meeting and Nick Cherry whilst Rhys Lansdown, Tristan McGraw, Luke Cornfoot and Kasey Ingram are all competing in the class for their first time this season and make this category very interesting this Saturday night.

Finally the visiting Goulburn Ovens Sedans class has competition coming from Beechworth Victoria along with Wagga, Corowa and Leeton in New South Wales. Liam and James Powell the Victorians are the drivers everybody is chasing with father and son combination Frank and Mark Gordon, David Walton and Chris Fitzgerald from Wangaratta also tough competition keen for the trophy win.

Santas Claus has already agreed to come and visit the kids and the bigger kids on Saturday night, so bring the family along racing starts from 4pm on Saturday with action finishing somewhere between 9.30 to 11pm depending on stoppages during the night.

Entry is $20 the price of an adult entry and $10 for children aged 10 to 16 and aged and invalid pensioners. Children under 10 years of age enter for free.
