The Kenny name has been connected to sports car racing in New South Wales over several decades, with Neil Kenny steering various sports car all over Australia from the 1980’s up until just a few years ago.
Neil’s son, Alex, also stayed loyal to sports cars, and for several years now he has forged a fast reputation in exotic European sports cars such as the Chiron LMP3, and more lately, in his magnificent Regulator Automation-supported Juno SSECN car, in which Alex has won many races in the Industrie Clothing New South Wales Supersports Championship.
In the face of increasing competition, Alex has now taken a big step upwards with the purchase of a latest-spec French made Nova Proto NP-01, this model now being the prime choice in the huge European sports car scene and hill climb scene.
Alex took delivery of the Nova Proto in late February at his Sydney base, and tested it for the first time at Sydney Motorsport Park in early March, in preparation for Round 2 of the 2023 Industrie Clothing New South Wales Supersports Championship there on April 15.
Straight out of the box and with hardly any time needed to adapt, his carbon fibre-chassied Nova Protom which is powered by a Honda K20 motor, fired out competitive lap times.
And in a nice segue, Neil Kenny will be making a return to circuit racing in Alex’s Juno at the same Industrie Clothing new South Wales Supersports Championship event.
Alex, and his dad Neil, go racing to be competitive, so there is every possibility that a father and son could be on the podium at Sydney motorsport Park.
