2 Litre Sports Sedans kick off 2021 at PIARC Access

Round 1 of the 2 Litre Sports Sedan Championship kicks off at Phillip Island this weekend. PIARC are holding their first of two Access to motorsport events for 2021. The 2 Litre Sports Sedans and Victorian APRA Pulsars will feature across both days of racing. After the disappointment of the cancelled 2020 Championship due to Covid the teams are keen to get back into it.

Iain McDougall will be out to defend his 2019 title in his BMW Mini. Class B winner Andrew Pinkerton has a freshly rebuild Datsun 1600 to defend his title. Iain McDougall will also be trying to take out the Class D win. Lee Nuttall will be the man to beat in the APRA Pulsar Class. With rain likely across both days the mix of front and rear wheel drive cars will certainly mix things up across the races.

With many new and rebuilt cars back on track for this years series it’s going to an exciting year ahead. The category has seen continued growth over the past years and this year will see numbers grow again. This years Championship will take in 2 rounds at both Phillip Island and Winton and the final round at Wakefield Park in October.
