NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rookie Daniel Dye will make three Xfinity Series starts in 2023.

Dye’s current team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series GMS Racing will cease operations at the end of the current season, but he will join Alpha Prime Racing for three Xfinity Series events this year.

GMS Racing’s pull out was led by Legacy Motor Club’s move to Toyota for 2024, as Dye completes a rookie campaign where he has scored a best finish of 11th partnering experienced driver and two-time winner this season Grant Enfinger.

Dye will contest Xfinity rounds at Texas, Las Vegas and the finale in Phoenix in the Champion Container-backed Alpha Prime Racing Chevrolet Camaro SS.

Before moving to the truck series, Dye tasted success during his ARCA campaign in 2021 when he took victory at his home circuit, Berlin Raceway in Michigan and is excited to make the step up to the Xfinity Series.

“I’m really looking forward to making my Xfinity debut with Tommy Joe Martins and everyone at Alpha Prime,” said Dye.

“It’s a great opportunity to compete at the next level and get a feel for what the Xfinity car is like before hopefully getting more opportunities in the future.”

“Daniel is a really exciting prospect,” Tommy Joe Martins told media members.

“We feel fortunate to be the team giving him his first shot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what he can do at Texas, Vegas, and Phoenix to close out the year.”

Dye remains on the prospect list for 2024.
