Supercars opens pre-season testing to spectators

Supercars will test at Winton Motor Raceway and Queensland Raceway

Supercars has confirmed spectators will be able to attend both pre-season tests at Queensland Raceway and Winton Motor Raceway.

The championship had been set to test at Sydney Motorsport Park, but that was later split into two tests in light of travel difficulties.

Initially, Supercars had announced the two tests at Queensland Raceway (February 12) and Winton Motor Raceway (February 16) would take place without spectator attendance.

However, Supercars has confirmed to Speedcafe.com that that decision has since been reversed.

Those who wish to attend will only be able to access public viewing areas and will not be allowed into the paddock.

“Both Supercars test days were initially planned to operate without fans due to current COVID compliance regulations,” read a statement from Supercars.

“Operators at both Winton Raceway and Queensland Raceway have now confirmed to Supercars that if fans wish to attend, they will have access to public zones only, free of charge.

“There will be strictly no access to the Paddock area or the back of teams’ garages at either circuit at any time throughout both test days.

“Both venues will manage fan access accordingly, with COVID tracing management mandatory upon entry.”

The Blanchard Racing Team, Brad Jones Racing, Erebus Motorsport, Kelly Grove Racing, Team 18, Tickford Racing, and Walkinshaw Andretti United will test at Winton Motor Raceway.

Dick Johnson Racing, Matt Stone Racing, Team Sydney, and Triple Eight Race Engineering will test at Queensland Raceway.
