Top Ford chiefs in town for GC600

Edsel Ford II, the great grandson of blue oval’s founder, is attending this weekend’s Vodafone Gold Coast 600.

Ford is making a rare visit to Australia where he will witness the second part of the Pirtek Enduro Cup that could see Ford Mustang driver Scott McLaughlin secure his second Supercars title.

Edsel was prominent figure in Australia have run Ford Australia’s sales and marketing from 1978-1980.

A face of Ford’s motorsport efforts in the US, Ford will be joined on the Gold Coast by the head of Ford Performance Mark Rushbrook, who has been a prominent figure at Supercars events this season.

The duo’s trip to Australia comes just a week after it was confirmed that Ford will have a greater representation on the 2020 grid courtesy of Kelly Racing’s switch to Mustangs as part of a partnership with Ford and Ford Performance.
