MSR has unveiled a new livery for this weekend

Matt Stone Racing has revealed a new look on its Holden ZB Commodore for this weekend’s Vodafone Gold Coast 600.

The Queensland squad has revealed a black and orange colour scheme on the #35 entry to be driven by Todd Hazelwood and Jack Smith courtesy of team sponsor Unit Workwear.

MSR’s new colours replaces the popular Stone Brothers Racing throwback livery it used for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 earlier this month.

“I think it looks great and is reflective of the vibrant and youthful culture we have here on the Gold Coast,” said team owner Matt Stone.

The new colours appear on ZB Commodore that has undergone an extensive repair since The Great Race following a heavy crash at the Metal Grate that ended the team’s Bathurst campaign on lap 101 with Hazelwood at the wheel.

Despite a hospital visit that revealed a torn muscle in his neck, the 24-year-old has been declared fit to racing alongside Smith this weekend.

MSR has been generating plenty of headlines off the track with the squad confirming the purchase of Racing Entitlements Contracts from Kelly Racing and Garry Rogers Motorsport to expand to a two car effort next season.

The squad has one yet to be revealed driver locked in for 2020 and is working on its plans for its second entry.

Meanwhile, its new look ZB Commodore for Hazelwood and Smith will hit the track for the first time in Friday’s opening practice at 1015 local time.
